[2003 BMW 330Ci 5-speed Manual 166k miles The Good: Clean title Engine healthy Transmission is smooth Staggered M-sport rims AGM battery Hard-Top!! Rear subframe poly bushings Rear diff poly bushings Rear trailing arm poly bushings Magnaflow Axle-back exhaust Secondary Air Injection pump replaced 2022 Alternator replaced 2023 PCV assembly replaced 2023 Water pump replaced 2023 Belts replaced 2023 Valve cover gasket replaced 2023 Spark Plugs replaced 2022 Aftermarket stereo with wiring for subwoofer routed to the trunk Oil change performed 2/2026 Plenty of meat on the brake pads A/C still blows ice cold Heater still blows hot As far as I know this car has not been beaten on during previous ownership, car was owned by a business firm owner. Interior is clean for it’s age All windows work No weird electrical issues It’s a 5 Speed!!! No water leaks The Bad: CEL for Rich condition I’ve been trying to hunt but never got around to figuring out (Likely IAC or MAF sensor) $1050 in back fees on reg (you can get penalties waived at the DMV) Brake light on due to damaged brake wear sensor I have not replaced Front control arms bushings seem to be torn already (replaced in 2023) Oil pan leak Door key barrel does not work and can get stuck in the “unlock” position, have to use key FOB for central locking Interior component colors are mismatched Interior wood is cracked but can be refinished Differential clunk, original manual Diff still installed Tires are dry-rotted As far as I know the oil pump modification has not been performed yet Rear bearing noise (Maybe?) New bearings are in the car I just never got around to replacing them Hood, Roof & Trunk panel paint is sunfaded Rear ashtray cover handle broke off Missing passenger side kidney Damaged front bumper Missing sunroof buttons Hate to be getting rid of it, but this project has been haunting me for years, and now the fees and my inability to smog the car are catching up to me to the point where it has turned to an expensive paperweight. I could hot smog it and slap new tires on it but at this point for me I just can’t afford to pull that off. Car has been sitting for a little under a year by now, it starts up and runs fine every time though, I start the car periodically so the seals don’t go dry. When I first bought the car the suspension had lots of play in it mostly in the rear so the entire rear end and front control arms were refreshed, car still feels really tight. I performed a quick health inspection this weekend to see everything I should disclose here and make sure it’s safe. Cleaned out the gas tank before leaving, put fresh fuel in it, did an oil change with a filter change, tires seem to have had a slight flat spot that went away over time and the front wheels are misbalanced but they need to get replaced anyways due to dry rot. I did not feel any play in the steering, bearings or suspension components even though the left front control arm seems to be torn. Rear poly bushings are still doing good at this time, no cracks or noise when driving whatsoever. Oil pan still soaked in classic BMW fashion, valve cover is also starting to seep oil, no coolant leaks, belts still look good. Struts and springs are still good as well, tie rods & steering still tight for that classic BMW steering feel. All metal panels are straight with no major dents. Stereo still works, all speakers are OEM but they still sound fine. Sunroof buttons are missing but the sunroof does open and close fully by itself and it does hold a water seal. Car still drives perfectly fine, it’s happy at all RPM ranges and still eats turns and bends. I have treated this car with respect, never abusing it and always addressing any issue I had with it in a timely manner, service records before my ownership are still available in the glovebox. Because of the dry-rot and expired registration I would strongly advise towing the car but I will not force you to, I just want the car gone. Shoot me a text or an e-mail so we can talk through meet-up details & get a test drive in, you must know how to drive manual, I will not be selling this car to a first time manual driver. I’m not sure if I can find the pink slip, we might have to fill out transfer + title replacement forms, along with the proof of sale for both of us. I can provide a carfax report for $20 if interested. If there is anything you want to see about the car, I can provide more photos upon request. Price for the car is $4500 OBO.
