1984 Volvo 240

[Up for sale is my beloved 1984 Volvo 244, this car has been wonderful but im afraid that I need something with a little more space, ive had a wagon in the past and decided i wanted to try out a sedan, well ive decided that its not for me! Since my 240 was first purchased in 1984 it lived its life almost completely with one owner in socal, it has been meticulously maintained and cared for at the volvo dealership in san diego, i have every piece of paperwork to back this up! even the original dealer sale/spec sheet. Many things have been replaced and refreshed, fluids have always been changed regularly, and the interior has never been thrashed up. Eventually the original owners sold the car to their neighbor who kept it and maintained it for a summer until she sold it to me last year. Classic grandma car story. In the time that ive had it ive replaced all the fuses, cleaned out the MAF, put in a new air filter, put in a new battery this month, kept up with the fluid maintenance, and added ceramic tint all around to help beat the heat and protect the interior from uv. It runs like a top and will happily take you anywhere you need to go, its never given me trouble other than a dead battery and can comfortably cruise 200+ miles a day without breaking a sweat. Passes smog without issue, and has new tags as of feb 2026 Like many volvos the odometer has recently began to get sticky since ive owned it currently its at 135k and is mostly accurate give or take a thousand or so miles. As you can see in the photos there is some cosmetic damage on the passenger side from when the original owner was side swiped, the clips holding a few pieces of the chrome trim to the body have also failed and need to be replaced which i might get around to doing before the car is sold! Other than small things like that the car is blemish free. If you have any questions, or want some more photos let me know! Volvo will also come with all maintenence records (of course), chilton manual and original glove box booklets, a good little box of spare parts (fuses, gaskets, spark plugs, distributor, fuel pump relay etc.) and some oil and a filter!
