['99 VW Cabrio Why: Had a baby, buying a car with the LATCH system for baby car seats. But I love this Cabrio. History: Purchased from first owner of 22 years in Langley, VA at 86k miles. This was an older couple who used it for the occasional drive to their neighborhood tennis club. Sweet people, full maintenance records. Since purchase, used for daily commute, was parked in a residential garage in Georgetown, DC. Moved to Mill Valley, California on the back of a truck in Spring of 2023, used since as daily driver. We always fill with premium, not sure why. Notable maintenance since purchase: - Rebuilt ABS assembly - Mill Valley Auto - Muffler harness holding it to the frame was replaced with a weld to frame - Johnny Franklin’s Muffler San Rafael - Tires (4) with 20k miles at purchase (27k today) Larry’s Tire Express, El Sobrante - Consistent oil changes (Toscalito and Jiffy Lube). Never deferred code check and fix. Engine light on once during my ownership, caused by faulty gas cap allowing air into fuel system which has been replaced - Wiper fluid hose and wipers replaced Mechanically very solid, with some cosmetic flaws: - Body rust on back corners of front wheel wells, left and right. Commonly occurring on this model. - Soft top seam split on back right. Top is currently manual. Motor was working but is too slow. - Glove box handle and lock mechanism broken. OEM replacement part is en route! - Left side mirror glass is the wrong shape from a later model Cabrio (works fine, just not perfect) - Some sun coloration of the original leather seats, and a split seam on driver side seat cushion. - ‘Cobweb’ scratches especially on hood of car It’s a super fun car, especially for this part of the country. Gets loads of compliments. Passed smog, clean title, etc etc. Low miles gently driven and always cared for just has normal wear for a 25 year old. Calls only. Cash only.
