[1986 Vanagon GL, 2.1 Original WBX, Manual 4-speed, Corte Madera I’m the second owner and had it since 1998. Daily driver for that entire time. Some good engine work into it and nice comfort features. 290K+ miles. Odo stopper working about 5 years ago. It has always been in California and Hawaii for 7 years – so no significant rust. Always garaged and original paint has held up remarkably well. Runs very peppy for the original motor, and there have a lot of updates/upgrades: New radiator, water pump, lines, power steering, low temp radiator fan sensor, catalytic converter (2024) New transmission linkage (2025) MansiSpeed Fuel Injectors (2021) and High-Performance Cams (2023) – the reason for the pep – made a huge difference. Rebuilt transmission and engine head water seal replacement (2020) LED Headlights, tow hitch, swivel passenger seat, queen Zbed great for camping. Wet Okole Custom seat covers all around – heated in the front. Adds support and makes it feel new inside. These aren’t cheap and you can tell. Kenwood Stereo, Bluetooth cell, and hands-free ready, JBL Speakers (2024) Registration good through July 2026 Front dash fan stopped working last month. AC is original so doesn’t hold a charge that long. One lifter is sticky and clicks when cold – nothing wrong per my mechanic, just clicks. Everything else is great. This van has character and has been well cared for. It’s ready to bring joy and adventure to its next owner.
