[2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Limited, WJ • VIN: 1J8GW58N33C606236 • Model Year 2003, Silver, “Limited” Trim, 164,000 miles • Full time 4WD Quadra-Drive system (4WH and 4WL) • 4.7L V8 Engine, Automatic Transmission • Gray leather seats, wood grain trim • Factory Tow Package with 6500lb Tow Capacity • Full records of all maintenance since I have owned it • Original User’s Manual • Jeep-brand floor mats What’s it good at • Very comfortable for long rides and camping trips, fits 5 easily and has large storage area • Great as an Overlander for camping fun in hard-to-reach places • Not a rock crawler, but is great off-road with the lift, the KO2’s and Quadra-Drive in 4WLow • Can be used as a reserve or “EVAC” vehicle at properties with high fire risk or high flood risk CAR HISTORY I purchased the car at 84,000 miles (Mar 2013) • Used mostly to drive to the mountains for summer vacations, fishing, etc. • Changed oil & filter and rotated tires every 5000 miles religiously (sometimes myself, sometimes at shops) At ~135,000 miles (Nov 2022), I installed a 2.5 inch spring lift from Fat Bobs, Utah, and added/upgraded: • New 265/70/17 (32's) BF Goodrich KO2, all 4 still in great condition (see picture) • Trimmed front bumper to enable full flex without rubbing, relocated fog lamps • Like-new full size spare 265/70/17 (32 inch) carried in roof rack as well as 245/70/17 (31in) in spare storage area • Premium Factory wheels taken from 2021 Rubicon Wrangler • Bilstein shocks (came with Fat Bob's lift) • New Spring Isolator pads on all 4 springs • Adjustable trackbar and upgraded steering stabilizer • Upgraded rear sway bar and links to heavy duty 1" size • 1” Transfer case drop kit to reduce axle angle • 10,000lb capacity Bull Winch with synthetic rope (mount on front or rear hitch) - can be moved between the custom front hitch or factory rear hitch, depending on the best recovery angle • Factory Mopar transfer case skid plate (two factory plates doubled up for thickness to provide improved protection) • Factory Mopar front suspension skid plate (two factory plates doubled up for thickness to provide improved protection) • Factory Mopar Gas tank skid plate • Custom radiator skid plate • Custom muffler skid plate • Factory Mopar rock rails (painted black, with end-caps highlighted in red) • Custom self-made front hitch for winch mount specifically designed to retain the Mopar factory tow hooks • Smoke tone head lamps, with LED bulbs • Smoke tone LED tail lamps • LED Fog lamps, wired to operate off factory fog lamp switch • Roof rack with custom air dam Other important stuff • Retained factory control arms and all other factory suspension parts – no death wobble! • The 4.7 v8 has been incredibly reliable and still runs quiet and smooth. I like it much better than the in-line 6. • Rear seats are removable to enable sleeping in back (6ft tall person fits easily) • Includes extra radio trim plates with custom mounting hardware that enables you to mount a tablet or phone for navigation • Includes kayak roof rack for 3 kayaks and custom straps that attach to front frame under hood to secure the kayaks in place • Climate control blend door on passenger side non-operational • Burns about ½ quart oil in 5000 miles, like most hi-mileage jeeps • Very small/slow oil leak near main seal (maybe 1 drop on ground every 1 week) • Small oxidation patch on roof above rear lift gate and on top side of left front fender • Right rear bumper corner has small crumple from me backing into a tree branch - I was able to mostly reform it to normal, but slight crumple lines are still visible
