Description

[1999 Corvette streetable HPDE Build I built this car for the track but wanted to be able to drive to the track and still take it for the occasional weekend back road drive. It is in excellent condition despite being used on the track quite a bit. My step-dad purchased the car brand new so its been in one family its entire life. He took ridiculously good care of the car and its been garaged its entire life. He was done with it after he bought a Shelby Cobra replica (and an s2000) so I turned it into what it is after he talked me into taking it on to the track one day before he was going to sell it (he gave it to me instead). This car has been great fun and is very capable on the track despite its age and you are still able to comfortably drive it to the track (other than speed bumps). Mileage- 131,605; note that the car odometer reads 71,410 but this is not correct. The tachometer on the original instrument cluster broke so I replaced the cluster (the mileage difference is + 60,195 and I have this noted in glovebox with pictures showing mileage of original and replacement clusters (math is 119,448-59,253) Work- Some performed at a local race shop (radiator, oil cooler, header and tow hooks) but almost everything else was completed at Abel Chevrolet who set this car up great for the track. Here is my list of modifications (all within the last 14,000 miles), probably still missing some: Powertrain: Engine is stock other than ls6 intake manifold (tuned after intake manifold, headers and intake, also fans come on earlier and deleted first to fourth skip) DeWitts Radiator and engine oil cooler (can run all day at Thunderhill in 115 degree heat) Cold air intake- Halltech All new hoses and belts, wires, plugs Oil catch can Ketch Belt tensioner Thermostat (160 degree) AC- new compressor and system charged (works but not great, I think the fan may need to be replaced or I am just used to how good systems in new cars are) Optima yellow top battery Engine and transmission mounts Rebuilt torque tube with aftermarket bushings (RPM rebuild kit) Ls7 clutch with lightweight flywheel Resealed transmission and differential rear engine cover seal Z06 power steering cooler Engine and transmission mounts- hinson motorsports Fuel filter replaced Exhaust: LG Pro long tube headers, x pipe and high flow cats Z06 titanium exhaust LG center thicker plate and insulation (don’t even notice the heat from the long tube headers and adds rigidity) Suspension: Van Steel Double Adjustable coilovers with 800 pound springs Delrin bushings in all control arms Spec corvette front and rear sway bars End links, ball joints, and tire rod ends all replaced rear axle seals Wheels and Brakes: Wilwood big brake kit front (spec corvette kit) front only, rear are stock but with stainless lines (speedbleaders on all calipers for easy bleeding) SKF Racing Hubs ARP long wheel studs Apex racing 18” x 11” square set up for 315/30/18 tires AMT camber kit with max camber settings Replaced ABS EBCM pump with low mileage unit Exterior: Spec corvette hood vents Spec corvette spoiler Front lower air damn center and side pieces and hardware all replaced Tinted windows Painted halo and targa top black All exterior lights are leds with SharpLight Innovations headlights and fog lights (can actually drive at night!, its like a new car) Brass gears for popup headlights so they will never fail Aluminum jack pucks that stay in place Front and rear tow hooks Racemesh screens for fog light openings Interior: Corbeau Evolution X Racing seats 6 point harnesses Harness bar (vetteworks sharkbar) Vetteworks lap and sub belt bars Sparco steering wheel with NRG quick release C6 z06 shifter Elite Engineering’s Aluminum Gas Pedal for heel toe AutoBlip- Xineering's Blip Modules system wired into glove box with switch hidden in center console to turn on and off (because I am still weak at heal-toe) All interior lights are leds Sony double din with back up camera and aftermarket lightweight speakers (great for backing up in the paddock with your HANS on and has Apple Car play) Removed entire interior and installed lightweight insulation (adds 7 pounds but totally worth it on hot track days) Reason for sale- I am buying a C8 Z51 (until I can afford a C8 Z06 in a couple of years) Only Issue- Car will not pass smog with the intake and long tube headers (also removed air pump used for emission system)- so either don’t register it in California or you will have to figure out a way to get it smogged and the bill of sale will reflect this Located in Bay Area, California (Danville) Asking $20,000 Link to recent track day (not my fastest but with the most corvettes) https://youtu.be/lIzuxsvB05Y Engine cold start- https://youtu.be/k8pz0K0vIeg Exhaust cold start- https://youtu.be/JcXzmatzT54
