This is the first generation with electric locking center and rear, available only on the Limited model. Eaton viscous front lockers (aftermarket). This 4Runner has the “Holy Trinity”: locking front, center and rear differentials. This vehicle is an off-road beast, and outperforms most stock 4wd’s in snow or mud. 4.5 aftermarket ring gears in front and rear differentials. This gives extra horsepower to compensate for the larger tires. 3 inch lift from Sonoran steel; differential drop, TRD tundra front springs, Bilstein adjustable front shocks, Bilstein rear shocks with extra ride height spacers. Polyurethane front bushings. Custom rims with larger BFG KO2 tires and plenty of tread. Recent smog. Strong engine and transmission, recent compression test showed 159 lbs on #6 cylinder. Straight body with some brush rash, fair paint. Good interior (see photos). Includes 3 roof bars. Overall good condition for a 27 year old vehicle, with minor trim and body flaws. Clean title. ABS seems to work. 4wd light flashes intermittently. When this happens the 4wd does not engage properly. This is the main reason for the low price. It seems worse in the rain. 4wd is mechanically sound, this is an electrical problem. Clunk in the front end- probably needs ball joints. Sun roof is jammed and leaks- another electrical problem. Motors work. Gasoline light on dashboard is out at night. Heater fan swallowed a paperclip- it works but roars.
