Description
[Truck is bulletproof. I’ve owned it for 5 years and driven all over the West in it. Total beast in the snow and feels properly quick with a manual. Can definitely chirp tires shifting into second and even third. This is THE sweet spot of new-ish vehicles but with minimal nannies. One button completely defeats traction control, very sweet for sand/snow if you need to spin the tires a bit. Modern engine management, but no cylinder deactivation or piped in fake exhaust sounds. With the aftermarket stereo you get Siri/Apple CarPlay. You could definitely add a backup camera, but I don’t have one installed currently. Good: - “Offroad” package pre-2011 = “Pro-4X” 2011+ and includes: - locking rear diff - roof mounted offroad lights (they work awesome) - skid plates - Bilstein shocks - 2” Old Man Emu lift - short shift kit, super crisp and precise - 33” tires, brand new (Milestar Patagonia AT-R’s. 285/75R16) - Pioneer double din head unit (DMH-2660 NEX) with steering wheel controls, Apple CarPlay, talk button queues up Siri… Rest of the system is the original Rockford Fosgate, amp, subs. - Weather tech style rubber floor mats - new clutch about 25,000 miles ago, new trans fluid at same time - (synthetic can’t remember if I used Redline or royal purple but good stuff) - underside is solid, no rust. - I repainted all the front and rear bumper plastic and most of the gray trim door and cowl plastic to fresh black. It was pretty oxidized looking gray before. - The back seat situation is awesome. You can fold the middle row completely flat with the cargo area. The lower cushions tilt forward OR can be removed in about 2 seconds. And the front passenger seat folds flat too. You can fit a “full” mattress in the back. If you wanted to build a sleep platform or drawer system it would be AMAZING for sleeping inside in a comfy bed with all your stuff underneath. Bad: - tire pressure monitors are so finicky. I just put some electrical tape over the light and check the pressure manually every so often. - Small spot of rust on the right rear wheel arch. It has never gotten bigger (.25” x 3” - you don’t really see it, it’s under the lip) -wheels are a bit banged up from rocks. Totally passable from 10’ but def not concours quality. -paint could use a buff - it’s been on and off inside/outside of the garage. Has some water spots from the sprinklers. Looks better when it’s waxed but would be nice if you hit it with some compound headlights could use another polish or get new lenses from eBay. -rear diff cover weeps a tiny bit from the drain plug . I’ve tried torquing it down super hard AND there’s plumbers tape on the plug now, but still drips a TINY bit, like one drop a week. A bit annoying. Easy to fix with a new cover if you care, I just didn’t want to buy new oil again. Only reason I’m selling the car is we need a bigger 4x4 with a third row and also my wife hates driving a stick when she has to use my car.
