[Selling my 2007 Ford Escape XLT - that's the trim level with the V6 engine. Background: I have owned this car since January 2020 when it had 145k miles on it. It has served me well. In that time, I have replaced many parts, including alternator, radiator, water pump, front axles, and numerous gaskets. The car now has 181k miles. I work from home and do not drive much. Why I am looking to sell: the car just doesn't get used very much. My wife's Corolla is the car we take on longer trips and it is very fuel efficient. The good: - This car has been a SoCal car its whole life. I am the third owner, the original owner bought it new from South Bay Ford in Torrance. As far as I can tell this car has never seen snow, therefore no rock salt, and there is no rust underneath. - This car has NEVER been in an accident. There is NO accident history whatsoever on the Carfax report and it has ZERO dents on it. Not even a shipping cart ding as far as I can tell. - Plenty of tread left on All Terrain tires - V6 motor is actually quite powerful, it really moves because the car isn't very heavy. - POWER seat, power windows, power locks ALL WORK -comes with two keys and remotes! -orange color is a little funky but trust me, you will NEVER lose this car in the parking lot! - I installed a bluetooth CD player that will stay in the car at the price I am looking for. - car has NEVER failed a CA smog test! **clean CA title in hand, in my name** **CA registration PAID through August 2026 The bad: - age. This is a 2007. It'a a "senior" car. Engine runs great but keep your expectations in check. - Because it is not driven every day, if it sits too long, the battery will die. Could be due to an aging alternator. Replacing the alternator on these cars isn't easy because it's in a tough location but a home mechanic could do it if they have the time. I am not inclined to make a weekend project out of it. - There is an ugly gash in the headliner (the cloth interior ceiling), it started to separate and I tried fixing it but I will admit that what I did made it worse. - Clear coat on the roof has been peeling, BUT, the rest of the car's paint is faded but still in good/fair condition - it's about ready for new brake pads & shoes. Still stops fine, but they are getting thin enough it's time for replacement. - A/C has been out for a while. I have not missed it because I drive with the windows down so it doesn't bother me. Overall this is a great little car. Good for a family, plenty of storage space as the rear seats can fold flat. As you can see I am being honest and realistic about the condition of the car. PLEASE do the same with your expectations. CASH IS KING. I will not reply to lowball offers, demands for me to drive the car to you, etc.
